Let us consider the following numerical example.
D1 = 82.5 mm; D2 = 89 mm; D3 = 189 mm (insulation thickness = 50 mm); insulation thermal
conductivity = 0.07 W/(m K), thermal conductivity of pipe material = 67 W/(m K). The heat transfer
coefficient in the pipe is hin = 1000 W/(m2
K) and the heat transfer coefficient at the outside insulation
surface is hout = 8 W/(m2
K). The temperature of the fluid within the pipe is 90 oC and the ambient
temperature is 20 oC
